If you are currently remodeling your kitchen with a floral motif and would like to provide the room's wooden cabinets with a makeover that complements the decor and furnishings that surround them, the following project will teach you how to sand, prime, and paint the wood before adding a floral design to the front of each cabinet door.

Clean And Sand The Wood
Lay pieces of plastic sheeting across the flooring and countertops that are underneath the cabinets. Use a cordless drill to loosen and remove the hardware that is secured to each cabinet door. Place the doors on top of one of the plastic sheeting-covered surfaces. Apply a wood cleaning agent to a soft cloth before moving it across the wooden frames and doors. If the wood has a rough surface, secure a piece of sandpaper to a hand sander and move the tool back and forth over the wood. Remove sanding dust with a tack cloth.
Add Primer, Paint, And Designs
Use a standard paintbrush to apply a coat of primer to the wooden frames and the front of each door. A narrow paintbrush may be needed to cover small details in the wood. After the primer has dried, apply a coat of paint over it with clean paintbrushes.
Once the paint has dried, use a ruler to assist with lining up stencils across the center of each cabinet door. After removing the backing from each stencil, press all of the stencils firmly against the wood. Use an artist's paintbrush to fill in each stencil with craft paint. Choose several colors of paint to enhance each floral design. Wait several hours for the paint to dry.
Remove The Stencils, Apply Sealer, And Reattach The Doors
Slowly peel each stencil from the wood. Use a standard paintbrush to apply a coat of clear sealer over the front of each door and to the surface of each frame. The sealer will protect the painted wood and will increase the shininess of the cabinets. Align each door with one of the frames and insert the hardware pieces before tightening them with a cordless drill. Maintain the cabinets by cleaning them occasionally with a soft cloth that has a non-abrasive cleaning agent added to it.
